1. Introduction

3D-DOCTOR is a computer software used for processing and displaying medical images stored in DICOM, TIFF, JPEG, BMP, raw and other formats. The application conforms to the DICOM 3.0 standard to allow interoperability with other DICOM compliant systems through standard image file formats.

The implementation of 3D-DOCTOR's DICOM interface has been carefully tested to assure correspondence with this Conformance Statement. But the Conformance Statement and the DICOM standard do not guarantee interoperability of 3D-DOCTOR and products of other vendors.

The user must compare the relevant Conformance Statements and if a successful interconnection should be possible, the user is responsible to specify an appropriate test suite and to validate the interoperability which is required.

SCU: DICOM Service Class User

SCP: DICOM Service Class Provider

SOP: DICOM Service-Object Pair

3. Implementation Overview

3D-DOCTOR software is used for viewing, processing and analyzing medical images. The application conforms to the DICOM 3.0 standard to allow interoperability with other DICOM 3.0 compliant systems through image files in the DICOM format.

3D-DOCTOR does not have functions to retrieve/store images from/to a DICOM server directly using a network. Images are transferred by computer files through a network or storage media, such as CD-R or zip disk.

4. Storage Provider AE

Not applicable.

5. Query/Retrieve User AE

Not applicable.

6. Media Storage AE

The Media Storage AE provides standard conformance to the General Purpose CD-R Image Interchange Profile (STD-GEN-CD) (supporting CR, CT, MR and SC images only) and CT and MR Image Application Profile (STD-CTMR).

In order to read the images contained on a CD-R correctly, the following mandatory DICOM image attributes (DICOM  Part 10) are required:

Mandatory Keys:  DICOM Part 10 File Import
